
Indonesian bitcoin exchange Pintu raises $113 million in Series B
Indonesian-based cryptocurrency exchange Pintu has raised $113 million following a Series B funding round, according to блоге компании.
The round saw participation from Pantera Capital, Lightspeed India Partners, Intudo Ventures and Northstar Group.
The funds will be directed toward further growth in Indonesia, development of DeFi services, NFTs, and an expansion of the workforce—to 200 employees over the next two years.
Launched in April 2020, Pintu ranks among the top three local exchanges, competing with Indodax and Tokocrypto. Its user base exceeds 4 million.
Pintu raised $6 million following a Series A funding round.
In April, Indonesian authorities announced their intention to impose VAT and income tax on cryptocurrency transactions.
