Blockchain.com to offer users .blockchain domain names

The Blockchain.com exchange and wallet operator will offer users .blockchain domain names from Unstoppable Domains. These domains can be used to send and receive cryptocurrency transfers.

Unstoppable Domains is a provider of NFT domains. Each name is a non-fungible token issued on the Polygon network.

A user can link their blockchain address to this identifier to simplify cryptocurrency transactions. Any transfers sent to their domain will be delivered to the corresponding wallet. This approach also enhances security, as there is no longer a need to disclose the public key.

To obtain the identifier, Blockchain.com users need to join the waitlist. The company’s clients will also be able to purchase domain names from a third-party zone and connect them to their wallets.

As reported in April, Bloomberg journalists reported that Blockchain.com to conduct an IPO in 2022.

In March, following another round of financing the company was valued at $14 billion.
