
Media: Animoca Brands raises $100 million from Temasek
The operator of blockchain games Animoca Brands has raised $100 million in the form of convertible bonds, which will be acquired by Temasek, a Singapore government-owned company. Bloomberg reports this, citing informed sources.
The parties declined to comment on the information.
The Hong Kong-based company is the publisher of several games, including The Sandbox, Crazy Kings and Crazy Defense Heroes, as well as digital products based on IP.
Animoca Brands owns several subsidiaries, including Blowfish Studios, Quidd, GAMEE, nWay, Pixowl, Forj, Lympo, Grease Monkey Games, Eden Games, Darewise, Notre Game and TinyTap.
The company is actively investing in Web3 projects. Its portfolio includes more than 340 positions, among them Colossal, Axie Infinity, OpenSea, Dapper Labs (NBA Top Shot), Yield Guild Games, Harmony, Alien Worlds, Star Atlas and others.
As a reminder, in July Animoca Brands привлекла $75 млн при оценке в $5,9 млрд. The funds were provided by Kingsway Capital, Alpha Wave Ventures, 10T, SG Spring Limited Partnership Fund, Generation Highway Ltd, Cosmic Summit Investments Limited and Liberty City Ventures.
The financing followed January’s round, during which the firm raised about $359 million.
In March 2022, Temasek participated in a round for Immutable, a startup focusing on Web3 games worth $200 million.
