Vitalik Buterin Announces Book ‘Proof of Stake’

The Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin will release a book titled ‘Proof of Stake’, a collection of his notes from the past decade.

The book is scheduled for release on September 27. Pre-orders for the paperback edition are available on several platforms at prices from $16.99 to $18.95.

The digital edition of the book includes Buterin’s signature and an NFT in exchange for a donation. According to the Ethereum founder, 90% of the proceeds from the sale will go to the Gitcoin fund for grant payments, and 10% to the publisher Seven Stories Press.

On August 11, Ethereum developers successfully migrated the Goerli testnet to the Proof-of-Stake consensus algorithm Proof-of-Stake (PoS). Before that, a similar event occurred on the test networks Ropsten and Sepolia.

The Kiln and Rinkeby testnets will not be migrated to PoS. After the mainnet migration shut down, as will Ropsten.

According to the team’s plans, around September 6 the Bellatrix ‘consensus layer’ upgrade (Beacon Chain). The activation The Merge is scheduled for September 15–16.

As noted, Buterin said that after the transition to PoS the network could reach a throughput of 100,000 TPS.

In August JPMorgan said that with The Merge activation miners will have to seek alternative sources of income. Analysts say Ethereum Classic (ETC) will become the main beneficiary of the influx of miners after Ethereum’s transition to PoS.
