Bitcoin Suisse adds Polkadot governance voting feature
Switzerland’s oldest crypto company Bitcoin Suisse has opened up voting for clients who hold Polkadot (DOT), Kusama (KSM) and Centrifuge (CFG) on the custody platform Vault. Project representatives told ForkLog.
According to them, users will be able to participate in governing the Polkadot protocol directly from the application interface.
The feature is also available for a growing number of parachains connected to the network.
“With the latest update to Bitcoin Suisse Vault, holders of DOT, as well as KSM and CFG, can easily use their account in the app to create a proxy account on a device of their choice. This allows their assets to remain safely in cold storage while they participate in governance voting”, — the company explained.
Head of Bitcoin Suisse’s custody division, Markus Perdritzat, noted that on-chain governance is of “key importance for advancing the Web3 ecosystem” and is a rapidly growing space.
In June 2020, Bitcoin Suisse Vault was the first institutional custodian to offer clients staking of DOT. The new option continued the trend, added Perdritzat.
Earlier in September, Parity Technologies, the Polkadot-affiliated organization, published an overview of the project’s roadmap.
