Edward Snowden puts himself forward as Twitter’s new CEO

A former employee of the NSA and CIA of the United States, Edward Snowden, in response to a post by Twitter owner Elon Musk about seeking a CEO for the social network, offered his candidacy for the post.

“I take payment in Bitcoin,” Snowden wrote.

In a post, Musk complained that ‘the question is to find a CEO who can keep Twitter alive’.

Earlier in November, Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao predicted a positive impact on the platform’s development by the new owner and head of Twitter.

Private investor under the handle iamraisini said that Musk is trying to legitimise his resignation through the poll. According to him, Arab shareholders have already asked the billionaire to step down from the CEO post.

The information is confirmed by The Washington Post. According to the paper, investors are urging him to give up one of his leadership posts to avoid being stretched across multiple companies.

In December, the paper noted Musk’s sale of 10% of his Tesla stake after the Twitter poll in November 2021. It also noted his subsequent December CEO tweet with a quote from Bulgakov’s The Master and Margarita:

“As the saying goes, be careful what you wish for — it may come true.”

On October 28, Musk closed the deal to buy the social network for $44 billion.

Earlier in November, Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao predicted a positive impact on the platform’s development by the new owner and head of Twitter.

In December, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin criticised Musk for his approach to moderating content on the social network.
