The auction will start on February 8 at 03:30 Kyiv time and run for 24 hours. On February 9 at 02:30 Kyiv time, Kabosu and her owner Atsuko Sato will join the live stream to discuss the results. Users will be able to ask them questions live. The auction winner will be awarded an NFT that entitles the holder to receive the actual sofa.
All proceeds from the sale will go to the Save The Children charity. In addition, the organizers plan to release a new NFT collection to increase the amount raised.
PleasrDAO rose to prominence in the autumn of 2021 after buying the Doge NFT for 1969.6 ETH (about $4 million at the time of sale). The project fractionalized it into roughly 17 billion $DOG tokens and sold 20% stake via auction. Revenue amounted to 11,942 WETH (~$47.4 million at the rate at that time).
Earlier in late 2022, Kabosu, the 17-year-old dog, faced serious health issues. It was later revealed that she had been diagnosed with leukemia.
