LocalBitcoins to close platform after prolonged crypto-winter

Popular P2P platform LocalBitcoins сообщила о прекращении обслуживания пользователей.

Representatives of the company said the reason for this decision was the prolonged crypto-winter.

“We urge all customers to withdraw their funds from LocalBitcoins,” the platform said.

Users will have 12 months to complete this procedure, but the company asks that withdrawals be completed as quickly as possible.

From February 9, the platform will stop registering new users; from February 16 it will suspend trading and wallet access, except for withdrawals.

“After February 17, 2023, LocalBitcoins customers will be able to log in to the system only to withdraw their bitcoins. From that moment, trading and wallet services will no longer be available,” the service team added.

LocalBitcoins has been named as one of the three largest sending counterparties in the Bitzlato case.
