Spotify tests NFT-enabled playlists accessible via wallets

The music streaming service Spotify is testing an NFT-enabled playlist service for holders of non-fungible tokens (NFTs). To listen, users must connect a wallet, according to CoinDesk.

The service is available to members of NFT project communities Fluf, Moonbirds, Kingship, and Overlord. Customised playlists will be updated during the three-month testing period. Users can access them via a unique link.

Overlord said that the exclusive service is available to holders of tokens from the lizard-themed collection Creepz. According to the statement, the pilot is currently rolling out in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Australia and New Zealand for Android users.

The Kingship team said it created for NFT holders a playlist featuring Queen, Missy Elliott, Snoop Dogg and Led Zeppelin.

According to the published screenshot, users can connect wallets MetaMask, Trust Wallet, Rainbow, Ledger or Zerion.

“The company regularly conducts tests to improve user service. Some of them ultimately pave the way for the deployment of solutions, while others help gain important insights,” commented a Spotify spokesperson.

In May 2022, it was reported that the streaming platform is exploring the possibilities of using NFTs.
