Bitcoin Pizza Day: Binance hands out free pizza, while Gate.io gives away 1 BTC
Every year on May 22 the cryptocurrency community marks Bitcoin Pizza Day. The anniversary stems from a milestone for the industry, when in 2010 programmer Laszlo Hanyecz purchased two Papa John’s pizzas for 10,000 BTC.
As of writing, they are worth about $267 million. In 2023 the community marks Bitcoin Pizza Day for the 13th time. ForkLog has gathered greetings and promotions for the celebration.
Among supporters of the event is the cryptocurrency exchange Binance. This year the platform is running prizes, delivering pizzas in person, and hosting contests.
