Tether signs partnership with Georgia government on cryptocurrency initiatives

Tether Limited signed a memorandum of understanding with the Government of Georgia, under which it will promote blockchain technology development and other cryptocurrency innovations in the country.

Tether will create a dedicated fund to provide investments and grants to local startups developing blockchain-based services.

The second step will be to facilitate the adoption of digital communications and payment systems based on peer-to-peer technologies in government administration and the private sector.

The company also intends to promote educational programs and initiatives to upskill students and professionals in the field of blockchain, stablecoins and P2P technologies.

“This cooperation strengthens Tether’s position as an innovative infrastructural partner for cities and countries around the world,” said Paolo Ardoino, Chief Technology Officer of the company.

Earlier in May, Tether Limited and the University of Business and Technology of Georgia signed a memorandum of understanding to promote education in the cryptocurrency and blockchain sector in the country.
