DFINITY Foundation launches $5 million grant program for DeAI
The DFINITY Foundation, behind the Internet Computer Protocol (ICP) ecosystem, launched a $5 million grant program to develop DeAI.
The program provides for four levels of funding:
- $5000;
- $25 000;
- $50 000
- $100 000.
Grants are distributed in ICP tokens.
Dominik Williams, founder and Chief Scientist of the DFINITY Foundation, in an interview with Decrypt noted that the main idea is to focus on “the meaningful fusion of AI with blockchain technology”.
“You’ve heard many say that their blockchain supports AI. In reality, what they mean is that a wallet is integrated with ChatGPT or something like that. This is just talk and has nothing to do with AI and blockchain,” he added.
The organization believes that using the Internet Computer to train AI models offers several advantages, including operating in a transparent public network with reliable results.
Earlier in January, the DFINITY Foundation announced the launch of the first decentralized exchange Sonic on the Internet Computer network.
Later, the organization introduced Chain-Key Bitcoin — a token backed by Bitcoin at a 1:1 ratio.
