Anthropic Introduces Browser-Based AI Coder Claude Code

Anthropic launches Claude Code for browser-based AI agent management.

Anthropic has launched a web application for its popular programming assistant, Claude Code. This now enables developers to create and manage multiple AI agents directly from their browser.

The assistant is being gradually rolled out to subscribers of the Pro ($20 per month) and Max ($100-200 per month) plans. Access is available on the website under the “Code” tab and through the Claude app on iOS.

Competition in the realm of AI tools for programming is rapidly intensifying. Previously dominated by Microsoft’s GitHub Copilot, the segment now sees advanced solutions from Cursor, Google, OpenAI, and Anthropic—most of which are accessible via the web.

Claude Code has become one of the most popular options. Since its launch in May, the number of users has increased tenfold, and the service generates over $500 million annually for the company.

Anthropic’s product manager, Cat Wu, noted that a significant part of this success is due to the quality of the company’s AI models, which have gained developers’ trust in recent years.

She added that the firm will continue to expand Claude Code’s presence, although the terminal will remain the primary environment for this tool.

According to the startup, 90% of the Claude Code product itself is written by their own AI models. Wu noted that she now rarely uses a keyboard, only checking the results of the digital assistant’s work.

Back in September, Anthropic introduced a new AI model, Claude Sonnet 4.5, which showcases advanced capabilities in programming. It is capable of creating “production-ready” applications.
