Crypto.com CEO Acquires AI.com for $70 Million to Launch AI Agent Platform

Crypto.com CEO buys AI.com for $70M, launches AI platform.

Co-founder and CEO of Crypto.com, Kris Marszalek, has acquired the domain AI.com for $70 million in crypto assets and launched a consumer AI platform.

A Record-Breaking Deal

The domain was put up for sale in March 2025 for $100 million. The deal was closed in April, with Arsyan Ismail as the seller. In a press release, the acquisition was described as the largest purchase of website addresses in history.

In 2010, CarInsurance.com was bought for $49.7 million. At the end of 2024, OpenAI acquired Chat.com for $15.5 million.

Historically, Cars.com was considered the most valuable domain name after it was listed as an intangible asset valued at $872.3 million in a company merger deal in 2014.

Since the deal’s closure, the team has been working on product development. The official launch took place on February 8, 2026, the day of the Super Bowl.

The Future of AI Agents

The initiative aims to accelerate the emergence of artificial general intelligence (AGI) by creating a decentralized network of autonomous, self-improving AI agents.

“With just a few clicks, anyone can create a personal assistant that not only answers questions but also acts on behalf of the user—organizing work, sending messages, performing actions in apps, creating projects, and much more,” the company announcement stated.

A key feature of the system is the ability of digital assistants to independently create missing functions to solve tasks. These improvements are subsequently scaled across the network, enhancing the efficiency of other assistants.

Examples of assistant use cases include stock trading, workflow automation, organizing and executing daily tasks, and updating dating profiles. All operations are carried out with privacy and user control.

“Agents operate in a specially protected environment where data is separated and encrypted with keys specific to each user, and assistants are limited by their users’ capabilities,” noted AI.com.

Marszalek has taken the position of CEO of the new project.

Users can start using AI.com for free. Paid subscriptions are available for advanced features.

Marszalek’s Approach

The purchase of AI.com aligns with Marszalek’s established strategy of making significant investments in industry-defining brands.

The cryptocurrency exchange Crypto.com was launched in 2016 under the name Monaco, after which the entrepreneur acquired the domain of the same name for $5-10 million. Later, the firm struck a $700 million deal to rename the Staples Center in Los Angeles to Crypto.com Arena and spent $100 million on an advertising campaign featuring Matt Damon.

Back in October 2025, Marszalek urged regulators to investigate after $19 billion in liquidations.
