American builds Bitcoin miner from 10 USB devices containing Bitmain chips
A resident of Los Angeles, Idan Abada, built a compact device for mining the first cryptocurrency. A video about it on TikTok had more than 2.7 million views as of writing.

Ten USB miners GekkoScience NewPac are connected to a USB hub, each containing two Bitmain ASIC chips. Cooling is provided by a built-in mini-fan. The device cost Abada estimated at $875.
To operate the device, a computer or laptop suffices. However, earning money with it is unlikely — a miner with a maximum hashrate of 2226 H/s yields 0.09315 mBTC per day (roughly $3.58).
The only way to get into profit, Abada said, is to use sources of free electricity, for example at Starbucks.
Earlier, in March enthusiasts used a portable Game Boy gaming system to mine bitcoin. To run the algorithm, miners needed a Raspberry Pi Pico microcontroller board and a PC. The system’s hashrate was 0.8 H/s.
