Apple Delays Launch of ‘Siri Agent’ Until 2026
Apple has postponed the addition of an AI agent feature in Siri until 2026. The tool was expected to launch this spring.
During the presentation of Apple Intelligence in June 2024, the corporation showcased new capabilities of the voice assistant: it can switch between multiple apps to perform various tasks such as planning a dinner after a flight lands.
The launch of the automatic personal information filling feature in forms has also been delayed.
“We are working on a more personalized Siri, providing it with more information about your personal context, as well as the ability to act on your behalf within and across your apps. It will take us more time than we thought to implement these features, and we expect them to appear next year,” said an Apple representative in a statement.
Along with Siri, the launch of Apple’s ‘smart’ home hub is delayed, as it depends on the new voice assistant features, noted Mark Gurman of Bloomberg.
Earlier, journalists reported on the company’s plans to launch a wall-mounted display with Apple Intelligence support for smart home management and video conferencing in March 2025.
Despite the delay, the corporation has begun testing the new device. Employees are taking it home to provide feedback.
Back in January, Apple suspended the use of artificial intelligence in notification summaries for news and apps following criticism over providing inaccurate information.
