Apple to Establish AI Server Manufacturing Plant in the US

By 2026, Apple plans to launch a factory in Houston, Texas, dedicated to the production of AI servers, creating 20,000 research and development jobs in the United States.

Over the next four years, the company intends to spend and invest more than $500 billion in the United States. This sum encompasses all business initiatives in the country, from supplier purchases to filming TV shows for Apple TV+ and educational programs.

The announcement followed media reports here about a meeting between the tech giant’s CEO Tim Cook and President Donald Trump last week. The head of state has already thanked Apple, noting that the company’s plans reflect confidence in his administration.

Most of Apple’s consumer products are assembled abroad. However, many components are manufactured in the US. Local chip suppliers include Broadcom, Texas Instruments, Skyworks, and Qorvo. In January, the company began producing its own chip at a TSMC facility in Arizona.

The construction of the Texas plant will be carried out in collaboration with Foxconn. The servers planned for assembly there are intended for data centers supporting the AI platform Apple Intelligence. Currently, this equipment is manufactured outside the United States.

“We are optimistic about the prospects for American innovation and proud to build on our longstanding investments in the US by investing $500 billion in the future of our country,” said Tim Cook.

In February, Apple introduced an update to its SE smartphone line, rebranding it. The iPhone 16e is priced at $599 and offers AI features through Apple Intelligence.
