Apple Unveils Public Release of Apple Intelligence

Apple has launched iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1, introducing AI features to a broader audience. This was announced in the company’s press release.

Users with iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, the entire iPhone 16 line, iPads with the A17 Pro or M1 chip and later models, as well as Macs with M1 and newer processors, can access the initial set of AI-supported features.

To access AI tools, users must select the U.S. English language option on their device. If an Apple account on an iPhone is linked to a European address, activating neural networks will not be possible. This does not apply to Macs, which have AI access.

The initial set of Apple Intelligence includes:

• a new Siri appearance that allows the phone’s edges to glow;
• various enhancements to the voice assistant, such as the ability to understand natural speech with pauses;
• Siri’s responses to Apple product-related questions;
• improved photo search and clip creation;
• removal of unwanted objects from photos;
• transcription of mail, messages, and voice recordings;
• a focus mode to display only important notifications;
• a writing assistant tool, Writing Tools.

Support for ChatGPT, emoji generation, image creation, object removal from photos, and visual information analysis will be available in iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2, and macOS Sequoia 15.2.

The developer beta version is already available for installation. The public release is expected in December.

Apple Intelligence to Arrive in the EU

Artificial intelligence on iPhone and iPad will be available in the EU in April 2025. In the coming months, the company will also add support for various languages, including French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese, and others.

Apple postponed the release of Apple Intelligence in the European Union in 2024 due to “regulatory uncertainty.”

In June, the corporation announced the integration of ChatGPT into its devices and a large-scale AI initiative, Apple Intelligence.
