Arkhangelsk police have opened a criminal case into fraud on a particularly large scale, following a local resident’s complaint after he was duped while attempting to purchase mining farms.
As reported by the МВД, the man found an online advertisement for mining equipment. Under the terms of the deal, the seller was to deliver the devices to Moscow within 15 days for 4 million rubles.
The parties signed a sale agreement, and the buyer transferred the amount. Waiting for delivery, the man decided to purchase another mining farm from the same seller and, after signing the contract, transferred more than 4 million rubles.
When the equipment was not delivered on time, the man tried to contact the seller, but the latter stopped replying.
Law enforcement has opened an investigation. The seller faces up to ten years in prison.
Earlier, a resident of the Irkutsk region was duped while attempting to buy a mining farm to heat a garage.
