The largest U.S. robo-advisory service Bettermentexpanded its lineup of investment strategies in digital assets. The company recommended limiting their share to 5% of total capital.
The new tools will be available to retail clients and financial advisors.
The lineup will include four products:
- Universal — a diversified basket of cryptocurrencies across the industry spectrum;
- Sustainable — includes digital assets and transactions on networks that do not harm the environment;
- Metaverses — cryptocurrencies tied to projects building virtual worlds and new approaches to digital commerce, including real estate, games, and entertainment;
- DeFi — the native assets of decentralized finance protocols.
«We are pleased to present a product that will simplify this new asset class. Expert-constructed portfolios, combined with educational content, will help Betterment clients […] make cryptocurrencies part of their long-term investment strategy», — said Sara Levy, CEO of Betterment.
The firm opened a dedicated portal where an information bulletin will be published every two weeks, and expert commentary will be provided on a regular basis.
According to the company, its services are used by 730,000 clients with AUM of $30.7 billion.
In September, asset manager Franklin Templeton opened access to two crypto-focused strategies, managing more than $1.3 trillion in assets.
In December 2021, investment adviser Ritholtz Wealth Management and WisdomTree Investments, with a similar aim, launched the RWM WisdomTree Crypto Index.
