Binance gains approval to operate in New Zealand

The cryptocurrency exchange Binance has registered as a financial services provider in New Zealand and opened a local subsidiary.

The approval was issued by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment on 10 September. According to the exchange, residents of the country will gain access to a range of financial services, including spot trading, staking and NFT.

\”We see New Zealand as something of a pioneer, so from this perspective I think there’s something to learn from our local team,\” said the company’s CEO Changpeng Zhao.

Earlier, Binance obtained an in-principle approval to operate in Kazakhstan, as well as a license as a provider of services on the digital asset market in Spain. The country became the third jurisdiction in the European Union after France and Italy, where the platform gained the backing of local regulators.

In 2022, authorities in Bahrain, Dubai and the free financial zone Abu Dhabi.

The company also announced the launch of a regulated cryptocurrency exchange in Thailand and announced the opening of a customer support center in Türkiye.

Binance filed an application for a license in Japan four years after abandoning plans to open a headquarters in the country, according to media.
