Binance Labs Rebrands as YZi Labs

Binance Labs Rebrands as YZi Labs

The venture arm of Binance has rebranded to YZi Labs. The company has broadened its investment focus to include artificial intelligence and biotechnology, while maintaining its commitment to Web3 innovations.

“For many years, the organization operated independently while using the Binance brand. Now that CZ [Changpeng Zhao] has stepped back from Binance, it is only natural for YZi Labs to also move to a new level,” the company stated.

As part of the rebranding, CZ will continue to play a key role in the firm’s investment activities. He will engage directly with project founders, offer mentorship, and provide training.

Ella Zhang has returned to lead YZi Labs. She, along with CZ, launched Binance Labs in 2018, becoming the organization’s first head.

Zhang has supported over 40 startups, including Polygon, Injective Protocol, CertiK, Dune Analytics, Kava, SafePal, Elrond, and Nym. In 2020, she ventured into entrepreneurship.

“Rebranding to YZi Labs is not just a name change, but an expansion of vision as we broaden our horizons to include transformative sectors like artificial intelligence and biotechnology,” commented CZ.

All existing companies in the fund’s portfolio will continue to receive support at the same level.

In December, Binance Labs announced the rebranding. One reason was CZ’s return and his desire to be personally involved in this area.
