Binance launches educational initiative in Kazakhstan
On December 19, the cryptocurrency exchange Binance signed a memorandum with the authorities of Kazakhstan to launch an educational program on blockchain engineering and compliance at 22 specialized universities in the country, ForkLog reported.
The initiative was developed jointly with the Blockchain Center Research Laboratory. It is the first nationwide implementation of a standard educational programme.
Between February and May 2023, the parties will develop academic programs based on educational materials from Binance Academy and will conduct training for instructors. They will then develop manuals for 4–5 specialised disciplines, and from September they will begin teaching students.
By the end of 2026, Kazakhstan’s universities will train more than 40,000 specialists. The first wave of graduates will be produced as early as 2024.
“The training of personnel under this agreement will help increase the share of Kazakhstani technology in the global crypto industry, thereby achieving the goal of developing a regional crypto-hub in Kazakhstan,” said Bagdat Musin, the minister of digital development, innovations and aerospace industry.
In May, Binance signed a memorandum of cooperation with the government of Kazakhstan.
On October 6, the exchange received a license to operate a digital asset platform and provide custodial services at the Astana International Financial Centre.
