Binance secures permanent license to operate in Kazakhstan

On 6 October, the cryptocurrency exchange Binance announced that it had obtained a license in Kazakhstan to operate a digital asset platform and provide custody services at the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC).

The document issued by the AIFC Regulatory Committee for Financial Services Regulation authorizes the platform to offer exchange and conversion services, deposits and withdrawals of fiat currencies, custody of crypto assets and exchange trading.

Registration on the exchange is open to individuals and legal entities from any country.

Going forward, the company plans to broaden its range of services and offerings.

Earlier ForkLog reported that Binance signed Memorandum of Understanding with the Agency for Financial Monitoring of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The document sets out the framework for the parties’ interaction to safely develop the virtual assets market in the country.

Earlier in August, the bitcoin exchange received preliminary approval to obtain the status of operator of a digital assets platform and custodian services provider at the AIFC.
