BIT Mining Limited Reports First Shipment of 320 Miners to Kazakhstan

The mining company BIT Mining Limited, listed on the New York Stock Exchange, said it had successfully delivered the first batch of cryptocurrency mining equipment to Kazakhstan.

According to a press release, 320 devices, expected to provide a hashrate of 18.2 PH/s, will be commissioned by June 27.

It is expected that the second and third batches (2,600 miners) will be delivered to Kazakhstan by July 1.

BIT Mining Limited stressed that it is accelerating the development of its business in overseas jurisdictions.

On June 19, the Ganzi Changhe data center, a subsidiary of the company located in Sichuan province, China, received a notice from a local power supplier to suspend power supply.

In May, data centers in the region, including Ganzi Changhe, accounted for about 3% of the company’s total revenue.

Earlier in Sichuan, authorities ordered the shutdown of ‘key’ miners and prohibited energy companies from supplying electricity to them.

Many local crypto mining businesses have started seeking other jurisdictions amid the tightening rhetoric of Chinese authorities toward cryptocurrencies. Among the jurisdictions under consideration by Chinese miners are Kazakhstan and Russia.
