Berlin-based venture firm Bitkraft raised $220.6 million to launch its second fund for investments in the gaming Web3-sector. According to a report filed with the SEC.
According to the document, the entity named BITKRAFT Ventures Token Fund II is registered in Delaware, United States.
In October 2021, the company launched a similar fund with $75 million in capital.
Bitkraft partner Carlos Pereira, in an interview with CoinDesk, said that, first and foremost, they view their work from the players’ perspective, not from the ‘GameFi paper’ side.
“We are, first and foremost, gaming investors with operational and investment experience. […] We are focused on writing excellent games using the blockchain tools we have,” he explained.
In March, the venture firm participated in a $40 million funding round for CCP Games developers. The latter will allocate the funds to the development of a Web3 game in the EVE universe.
Pereira noted the importance of an “efficient business model” when simultaneously working with traditional capital and cryptocurrency.
In February, Indian gaming startup Kratos Studios closed a $20 million funding round, valuing the company at $150 million.
In the same month, the blockchain game Worldwide Webb attracted $10 million from Pantera Capital.
