Bitmain to Host World Digital Mining Summit 2022 in Mexico

Bitmain, the maker of mining equipment, via its Antminer will host the World Digital Mining Summit 2022 (WDMS Global 2022) in Cancun from 8 to 10 November.

Strategic partners will participate in organizing the summit, including Antpool, Antalpha and Bitfufu.

Bitmain noted that the northern neighbor of Mexico, the United States, accounts for the largest share of the Bitcoin hash rate at 37.8%. Meanwhile, Latin American countries could become one of the fastest-growing regions for cryptocurrency mining thanks to rich energy resources and government support.

The WDMS Global 2022 themes will be the PoW driving force in the industry and incentives for mining. During the event, participants will explore ways of efficient and environmentally friendly cryptocurrency mining, discuss hydro-cooling technologies and the digital future of Latin America.

“The PoW consensus algorithm allows miners to compete for the right to sign a block, using professional equipment such as computers and modern mining setups like ASIC servers,” the statement says.

For the WDMS, tickets will be issued as non-fungible tokens for the first time. They will confer holders a number of benefits, including access to a VIP banquet, Bitmain gift packs, early participation in the company’s NFT airdrop, and many others.
