Bitzlato to raise the amount of Bitcoin available for withdrawal

On September 14, the Bitzlato crypto-exchange platform will increase the amount of funds available for withdrawal by authorized users to 60%. ForkLog reported this, citing platform representatives.

The percentage is calculated based on the balance fixed on January 18, 2023, in bitcoins.

Access to partial withdrawals via the Telegram bot @bz_phoenix_bot for users of the web version and the Bitzlato app received since March 20.

On January 17, the U.S. Department of Justice arrested the founder of Bitzlato Anatoly Legkodimov on charges of laundering $700 million tied to the darknet marketplace Hydra. A day later, the service suspended its operations.

Subsequently, it emerged that the arrest of former chief executive Mikhail Lunov, marketing manager Alexander Goncharenko, the contractor for the Monolithos DAO deployment Pavel Lerner, and the platform’s system administrator became known.

According to ForkLog, lawyers said that all arrested individuals “were not part of the team, but were either contractors or consultants, some of them never participated in the company’s core activities”.

According to Europol, the exchange had converted assets linked to criminal activity totaling around €1 billion ($1.08 billion).
