
Blockchain.com Eyes IPO in 2023
Blockchain.com, the exchange and cryptocurrency wallet provider, is considering an IPO in 2023. This was disclosed by the company’s chief financial officer, Makrina Kgil, Fortune reports.
On August 30, 2021, the platform marked its tenth anniversary since launch. According to Kgil, during this period Blockchain.com processed user transactions totaling $1 trillion.

The CFO indicated that the company could go public within 18 months or more. She did not disclose further details.
In February Blockchain.com raised $120 million in funding from macro-investors, including Moore Strategic Ventures, Google Ventures and Lightspeed Venture Partners.
In March, joined the company’s board by former White House aide Jim Messina. In the same month the cryptocurrency exchange raised $300 million in a Series C, valuing the company at $5.2 billion.
Later it emerged that in this round the Scottish asset manager Baillie Gifford invested $100 million in the platform. At that time, Blockchain.com CEO Peter Smith said the company planned to go public.
In June, the bitcoin exchange moved its American headquarters from New York to Miami and announced an expansion of its workforce.
