Murder in Sofia

Crypto-multimillionaire Christian Peev has been found murdered in the Bulgarian capital. The attackers attempted to dispose of the body by flushing it down a toilet. This case echoes the recent murder of crypto influencer Fernando Perez Algaba, whose remains were found in a suitcase.

Verdict for Mr. Chen

In China, a court sentenced a citizen known to the media as “Mr. Chen” to nine months in prison for purchasing USDT totaling 94,988 yuan (~$13,000 at the time of publication).

In February 2022, Chinatightened the penalties for fundraising in cryptocurrencies: such operations can be punished with prison terms of more than seven years.

Masters of Forecasts

Entrepreneur Robert Kiyosakipredicted a rise in Bitcoin to $1 million in the event of a global economic collapse. He cites the high US national debt as a possible reason for a crash in the global market. He did not specify how digital gold could be used in such a catastrophic scenario.

With a more conservative forecast Tom Lee, co-founder of Fundstrat, he predicts a Bitcoin price up to $180,000 on the condition that the SEC Bitcoin-ETF is approved.

As reported, on 15 August the British company Jacobi Asset Management launched the first Europe-listed Bitcoin-based ETF.

Donald Trump’s Wallet

The Arkham Intelligence linked a cryptocurrency wallet that has been receiving millions from selling NFT, to former US President Donald Trump and began tracking him.

In the context of the presidential race, more American politicians see the need to speak out in support of cryptocurrency. The most active supporters appear to be Robert F. Kennedy Jr. — Jr. and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

KuCoin User Report
