ConsenSys to participate in CBDC testing with Societe Generale

The Ethereum ecosystem solutions developer ConsenSys announced a partnership with the technology arm of the French banking giant Societe Generale to test central bank digital currencies (CBDCs).

According to the press release, ConsenSys will provide technology and expert support to the bank’s unit called Forge. It is involved in France’s CBDC experiments.

Earlier, Forge selected the Ledger Vault platform to test the CBDC security protocol.

ConsenSys also became a partner of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and the Bank of Thailand in the second phase of their joint CBDC development project.
