Crypto.com names former Spotify executive Henrik Johansson as global head of growth
Hong Kong-based payments platform Crypto.com named a new global head of growth. The appointee is former Spotify top executive Henrik Johansson.
Over the next two years, the new head of growth at Crypto.com plans to grow the platform’s user base to 100 million.
At Spotify, Johansson led global growth teams for the past eight years, expanding the service’s international reach and accelerating the adoption of streaming music.
According to the press release, over the past year Crypto.com has hired more than 1,500 employees, and its user base has grown more than fivefold, to 10 million.
“Henrik is a rare talent who deeply understands growth, product and marketing. […] When he joined Spotify, they had 36 million users, and now — more than 360 million. Henrik’s goal at Crypto.com is more aggressive: to reach 100 million users in two years,” said co-founder and CEO of the platform Kris Marshalek.
Earlier, Crypto.com entered into a partnership with the UFC and signed a five-year sponsorship deal with the Formula One racing series.
The platform will launch its own NFT marketplace in collaboration with American rapper Snoop Dogg and digital artist BossLogic.
