“The company will be the exclusive cryptocurrency trading platform sponsor of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and will benefit from brand promotion both on the tournament’s stadiums and beyond,” the press release said.
The final stage of the World Cup will be held in the Arab country from November 21 to December 18, 2022.
“The company has already demonstrated its commitment to supporting top teams and leagues worldwide and major events and iconic venues, and there is no bigger stage or with greater reach and cultural influence than the global football platform,” said Kay Madati, FIFA’s Chief Commercial Officer.
In June 2021, Crypto.com became a partner of the Formula 1 racing series, and in July signed a deal with the UFC. The company is a sponsor of the French club Paris Saint-Germain and of the Australian Football League.
Crypto.com bought for $700 million the naming rights to the arena in Los Angeles, which is home to two NBA teams and an NHL club.
“Through our partnership with FIFA, we continue to use our platform in innovative ways so that Crypto.com can power the future of world-class sport,” said Kris Marsalek, Crypto.com’s CEO.
Crypto.com joined the ranks of crypto companies that advertised during the Super Bowl in February.
