Cryptocurrencies for Everyone: MEXC COO Tracy Jin on Her Industry Journey

Women account for 39% of all cryptocurrency owners, according to a study by the payment company Triple-A. However, the team at the crypto exchange MEXC believes they are underrepresented in cryptocurrency projects, particularly in leadership roles.

In the lead-up to International Women’s Day, we spoke with COO MEXC Tracy Jin. She shared her experiences working at the company and her views on opportunities for women in Web3.

Jin began her career as a developer at Huawei, later moving into data analytics and business development in fintech companies. In 2021, she joined Bybit, and subsequently MEXC.

“Initially, I was seen as a ‘techie,’ but I proved my competence in building business processes with results: I updated the asset listing strategy and saw the impact of the changes within just four days. I launched one of the first projects in less than a week, significantly increasing user inflow,” Jin comments.

According to her, the crypto industry offers women unprecedented opportunities for career and financial growth:

“Women already play an important role in this field: they possess strong communication skills that allow them to build networks, manage risks, and shape the culture of Web3.”

Jin is confident that success in the industry depends on competence, not gender.

“It’s important not just to ‘work in crypto,’ but to hold strategic positions, consider various risks, and earn users’ trust through process transparency. Success comes to those who are ready to adapt quickly and are result-oriented,” emphasizes the Chief Operating Officer of MEXC.

Representatives of the exchange claim that the platform facilitates the integration of women into the industry:

“There is room for everyone in the crypto industry who is willing to learn, grow, and move forward. We strive to make the path for women more accessible by providing them with the necessary resources and support at every stage of their careers.

We advise newcomers not to fear challenges, to continually expand their knowledge, seek like-minded individuals, and develop a personal brand. Remember, cryptocurrency is not just about trading. You can find your niche in investments, marketing, journalism, blogging, analytics, and other areas.”

The stories of Tracy Jin and other women in the crypto industry are published on the blog of the trading platform.

Earlier, nine out of 30 positions on the Forbes 30 Under 30 Finance list for 2025 were occupied by founders of cryptocurrency companies. The ranking included ten men and four women.
