Daniel Larimer, co-founder of Block.one and creator of the EOS cryptocurrency, unveiled his new project — Clarion.

According to the developer, he learned lessons from other projects in creating a mobile decentralized social media platform. The tool will support text and video messages, voice chats and the ability to publish content.
‘One of the architectural design decisions distinguishing Clarion from most other peer-to-peer applications was the choice of a progressive web app based on Web Assembly,’ the project description says.
Larimer described this as the only way to create a censorship-resistant social network. In his words, you cannot rely on Google and Apple app stores to distribute content.
Earlier, Larimer repeatedly abandoned his own projects. He left the social blockchain platforms BitShares and Steemit in favour of Block.one. The latter is behind the creation of the EOS cryptocurrency and the social network Voice, launched in July 2020.
In January 2021, Larimer left the post of chief technology officer at Block.one, and EOS’s price fell by about 15% as a result. Users criticized the developer for the habit of abandoning his own projects after crowdsales.
