DemHack winners to receive up to 1.5 million rubles for digital citizenship solutions

ForkLog has become the media partner of the DemHack hackathon, organized by the public organization RosKomSvoboda and the Teplitsa of Social Technologies project. Its participants will work on finding solutions for digital citizenship aimed at protecting rights and advancing citizens’ interests in the digital environment.

The focus areas of the hackathon include: protection of digital rights, digital participation of citizens, and improving their digital skills in the digital environment.

Projects may touch on privacy and privacy protection, cybersecurity, accountability and oversight in interactions between citizens and online platforms, digital literacy in cybersecurity, and other areas.

Participation in DemHack is open to both established teams and individual specialists who would like to join an existing team or form a new one. Participant selection is conducted by a competition committee.

The total prize pool for DemHack will exceed 1.5 million rubles.

The hackathon will take place on 12-13 September in Moscow. The venue and format depend on the evolving epidemiological situation.

Earlier RosKomSvoboda held Pandemic Hackathon, aimed at developing projects in health care and civil mutual aid in the context of the coronavirus.
