«Breaking: I am a proud owner of 1 BTC»,
Portnoy wrote.
In the video, he confirmed that he had indeed purchased digital gold.
That’s all I could afford at the $48,000 price. Fifty grand, and now I have one bitcoin. I don’t hold DOGE. I sold DOGE, not at a loss,
added the founder of Barstool Sports.
In August 2020 Portnoy reported an investment of a seven-figure amount in the first cryptocurrency after meeting Gemini exchange founders the Winklevoss brothers.
Later the investor sold all the bitcoins at a price of around $11,600. He said he lost $25 000 on the market downturn and grew disillusioned with cryptocurrencies.
Earlier in March 2021, Portnoy congratulated bitcoin investors on reaching a new all-time high and admitted that he had sold the asset too early.
