In a separate message, the founder of the messenger was asked about the potential integration of the app with Musk’s AI startup xAI’s chatbot Grok. Durov responded positively.

A bot for Grok with the username @GrokAI has appeared on Telegram. It is claimed to be free for all Premium subscribers.
ForkLog tested Grok from both Premium and non-Premium accounts — in both cases, the bot did not respond.

Musk confirmed the launch of Grok on Telegram.

Separately, Durov noted surpassing the milestone of 1 billion active users on his Telegram channel.
The entrepreneur emphasized that his messenger has become the second most popular messaging app after WhatsApp, excluding WeChat, which is focused solely on China.
User engagement is also growing — on average, a person opens Telegram 21 times a day and spends 41 minutes daily on the app.
Durov noted the platform’s revenue growth. In 2024, the company earned a profit of $547 million.
Earlier in March, the entrepreneur left France and went to Dubai “for a few weeks” with court permission.
On August 24, 2024, the businessman was detained at Le Bourget airport. He was accused of, among other things, complicity in the distribution of drugs and child pornography, as well as refusing to provide information at the request of authorized bodies.
Five days later, Durov was released on bail of €5 million with the obligation to report to the police station twice a week and not leave the country.
On December 6, 2024, the Telegram founder was interrogated for the first time regarding the case. Officials believe his case will not be considered before 2026.
