
Franklin Templeton to launch second blockchain fund as assets exceed $1.4 trillion
Asset manager with more than $1.4 trillion in assets, Franklin Templeton, plans to launch a second blockchain fund. This follows from documents filed with the SEC.
Blockchain Fund II is a private equity fund. The minimum investment is $100,000.
The first such structure was created in late 2021 and focuses on venture capital.
In the same year the firm supported the Galaxy Digital-founded crypto fund worth $34 million.
In 2022, Franklin Templeton announced the launch of an ETF focused on metaverses, and then announced strategies for investing in cryptocurrencies.
