
Google updates advertising rules for NFT games, excluding gambling-related content
From 15 September 2023, the internet giant Google will allow advertisers to promote through its services products and services for NFT-games, provided they are not related to gambling.
The company will allow advertising for blockchain gaming applications where users have the opportunity to purchase in-game items in the form of non-fungible tokens.
Promotions will be barred for games that allow players to stake NFT to win something of real value, or to obtain cryptocurrency and other rewards.
Google also does not permit advertising for gambling games such as online casinos or any imitation thereof that uses non-fungible tokens.
“We expect that all advertisers will comply with local laws in any area to which their ads are targeted. This policy will be applied globally to all accounts promoting similar products,” they said.
Accounts of violators will be blocked within seven days after a warning is issued.
In July, Google announced its decision to allow NFT games in the Android app store.
