Hermitage settles dispute over NFT featuring Rammstein frontman Till Lindemann

The State Hermitage разрешил использовать изображения своих интерьеров в NFT-коллекции немецкого музыканта Тилля Линдеманна.

The museum held talks with the Twelve X Twelve marketplace, which hosts non‑fungible tokens. As a result, the parties signed an agreement that takes into account the interests of each side.

“On the basis of the agreement, the museum officially allowed the use of images of the interiors of the State Hermitage in NFT format within the NFtill project,” the statement said.

In May 2021, Rammstein vocalist Till Lindemann shot a video in the Hermitage interiors for the song “Beloved City.” In August, he released the NFTill collection, comprising frames from that shoot. The total value of the five tokens offered for sale exceeds €1.2 million.

Representatives of the museum said there was a breach of the agreement by the musician, as the video materials could not be used outside the clip.

On August 31, the Hermitage and the Binance NFT marketplace announced the start of sales tokenized artworks from a limited digital collection.
