HIVE to acquire an additional 4,000 ASIC miners from Canaan

Chinese mining equipment maker Canaan Creative has received an order from the Toronto Stock Exchange-listed HIVE Blockchain Technologies to supply 4,000 ASIC miners.

The aggregate hash rate of the devices amounts to 272 PH/s.

Under the agreement, Canaan will deliver the miners in two installments of 2,000 units — in August and September 2021.

In January, HIVE had already purchased 6,400 Avalonminer 1246 miners with a total capacity of 576 PH/s, to be delivered by the end of 2021.
