In Argentina, lawmaker proposes legalising salary payments in Bitcoin
Argentine lawmaker José Luis Ramón introduced a bill that, if adopted, would allow workers to receive wages in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
I presented a bill so that employees in dependent employment and service exporters have the option to receive their full or partial salary in cryptocurrencies. The idea is that they can strengthen their autonomy and preserve the purchasing power of their remuneration👇

The legislator argues that his initiative will help preserve employees’ purchasing power and increase their financial autonomy.
Under the proposal, workers could opt to receive their remuneration in full or in part in cryptocurrency.
“This initiative is tied to the need to ensure greater autonomy and wage management, which does not entail the loss of rights or possible abuses within the framework of labor relations,” José Luis Ramón explained.
As noted, amid Argentina’s economic crisis, interest in Bitcoin in 2021 rose twofold compared with the 2017 bull run.
