According to Dorsey, the aim of the program is to demonstrate that access to powerful financial tools empowers people with greater independence.
“It’s not just about Bitcoin. It’s about forward-thinking, local economy and self-confidence. The courses are free for all Marcy residents, including children. And, to make things easier, we provide devices and free connectivity to everyone who needs it,” he wrote.
The educational program was developed in conjunction with Crypto Blockchain Plug and Black Bitcoin Billionaire.
In February 2021, Dorsey and Jay-Z launched the Bitcoin developers funding fund ₿trust.
