One of Mexico’s wealthiest individuals and founder of the Grupo Salinas conglomerate, Ricardo Salinas Pliego, at the Bitcoin 2022 conference said he prefers Bitcoin to bonds. This is reported by Deсrypt.
According to the billionaire, the majority of his investment portfolio is allocated to the first cryptocurrency.
“I definitely do not hold any bonds. I have a liquid portfolio — 60% in Bitcoin and Bitcoin-related equities, and 40% in hard assets such as oil, gas and gold mining,” said Salinas Pliego.
According to Forbes, the founder of Grupo Salinas rounds out the top three wealthiest Mexicans. In the ranking Bloomberg he is 156th in the world on this measure, with a fortune of $12.7 billion.
In November 2020, Salinas Pliego said invested 10% of his liquid portfolio in Bitcoin.
In February 2021, the billionaire added the hashtag of the first cryptocurrency to his Twitter account description. In June he urged everyone to invest in digital gold, and in the New Year’s address repeated this message.
In February 2022, Salinas Pliego stated Bitcoin’s supremacy over fiat.
