Near Protocol unveils a blockchain operating system

The Near Protocol team unveiled Blockchain Operation System (BOS), which it positioned as a ‘blockchain operating system’.

According to the co-founder Ilya Polosukhin, the platform is intended to make interactions with the Web3-segment more convenient. The current development is compatible with Near Protocol and the Ethereum Virtual Machine, but in the future other blockchains will become available.

The operating system is designed to help developers create and launch new products.

“A composable decentralized external interface as a framework can work with any Web 2.0 or Web3 services, as well as crypto wallets,” added a Near co-founder.

As BOS evolves, it will create a bridge for seamless programmable interaction between different blockchains.

Polosukhin also noted that the operating system “creates a single entry point” for all users and developers. The central idea of the project is to bring all Web3 applications together in one place.

Earlier in February, New York University signed a partnership agreement with the nonprofit Near Foundation to launch a Web3 training course .
