A Russian man lost more than 1.5 million rubles in an attempt to invest in cryptocurrencies

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Karachay-Cherkessia has opened a criminal case into fraud related to offers to invest in cryptocurrencies. This was reported on the department’s website.

A local resident came across online ‘blogger advertisements’ about investments in the cryptocurrency market, the press service said.

Over the course of a month, the victim transferred more than 1.5 million rubles to various accounts in total.

Subsequently, the attackers stopped contacting him; their phone numbers were unavailable.

Earlier, a resident of Karachay-Cherkessia became a victim of a scammer who offered to make money through cryptocurrencies.

Law enforcement authorities detained the suspect; the court found him guilty.
