Aksakov: State Duma working group on mining regulation to begin work soon
The working group on legalising cryptocurrency mining in the Russian Federation is set to begin work soon, said Anatoly Aksakov, head of the State Duma Committee on the Financial Market. «Прайм».
The official supported the creation of such a group and noted that he would join it.
“I believe we have grey, unregulated zones related to the issuance, circulation, taxation, and operations of cryptocurrencies. Accordingly, all of this needs to be discussed, analyzed, regulated legislatively and normatively.”
At present, mining in Russia is not prohibited, and its precise regulation is not laid down.
Earlier, representatives of several ministries supported the initiative to regulate mining as a form of entrepreneurial activity. Previously, Aksakov advocated such a proposal.
In November, the State Duma decided to create an inter‑committee working group for discussing the regulation of cryptocurrency mining.
