Almost 20% of blocks on the updated Ethereum are produced using MEV-boost
18% of blocks in the Ethereum network were generated using MEV, providing validators with additional staking rewards. Developer Elias Simos obtained these results after The Merge.
We looked at the first ~24k blocks post-Merge and compared the performance of block proposers that are running mev-boost vs those that aren’t.

Thanks to a MEV-boost, validators using it were able to earn 122% more. The blocks they produced contained 41.4% more transactions.
In addition, MEV-boost helped eliminate empty and skipped blocks. Among validators not using this functionality, the analyst found such instances in 1.2% and 1.5% of cases respectively.
According to mevboost.org, the Flashbots service holds the MEV leadership with a share of 80.98%.
The remaining 19.02% are accounted for by six other relays — bloXroute Max Profit, bloXroute Ethical, bloXroute Regulated, Blocknative and Eden.

Such dependence raises concerns about a single point of failure for the ecosystem.
Santiment’s data show that 46.15% of all PoS nodes in Ethereum are attributed to two addresses.
📊 According to our #Ethereum Post Merge Inflation dashboard, 46.15% of the #proofofstake nodes for storing data, processing transactions, and adding new #blockchain blocks can be attributed to just two addresses. This heavy dominance by these addresses is something to watch. pic.twitter.com/KQdFNgGloD

In September, analysts at Nansen found that Coinbase, Kraken, Binance and Lido Finance account for 61.25% of all staked Ether.
Earlier, Paolo Ardoino, CTO of Bitfinex and Tether, said that a major upgrade does not solve Ethereum’s problems, including decentralisation and scalability.
