Animoca Brands posts around $530 million in revenue since the start of 2021

The company’s reserves in liquid digital assets, including BTC, ETH and USDC, exceeded $600 million, according to founder and chairman Yat Siu.

According to him, the financial success has stemmed from successful investments in NFT- and metaverse-focused projects.

The Sandbox, the gaming platform owned by the company, launched the alpha version of the metaverse in November. The project demonstrates record sales, Siu noted.

\n\n\n\n

Notable progress has also been achieved by other ecosystem participants, including GAMEE, REVV Racing, Crazy Defense Heroes (Tower), Lympo, nWay and Quidd, he added.

\n\n\n\n

The reserves of Animoca Brands’ ecosystem projects in digital assets rose more than fivefold in just two months—from $2.9 billion to $15.9 billion as of the end of November.

In Siu’s view, these assets, which include REVV, SAND, TOWER, GMEE and others, may be considered the company’s treasury.

\n\n\n\n

He noted that a year ago the combined monthly trading volume of the ecosystem’s main coins—SAND and REVV—stood at $245 million on an annualised basis. By the end of November, the figure had surpassed $10 billion.

Siu stressed that in 2021 NFT sales surged, reaching $13.2 billion in the first three quarters. He described digital collectibles as \”a fundamental component of the open metaverse\”.

\n\n\n\n

\”The ongoing mainstreaming of blockchain applications and the staggering growth in NFT trading are encouraging indicators not only for Animoca Brands, but for the entire movement supporting the open metaverse,\” said the founder.

In October, Animoca Brands raised $65 million, valuing the company at $2.2 billion.
